Here are some common concerns with computers that are not ready for use with marketing.

  • Does your computer need to be updated?
  • Do you have access to the internet at your home?
  • Are the programs on your computer up to date?

Computer.

If your computer is old, try to do as much as you can with what you currently are using. As you begin earning money with your marketing, you will be able to upgrade your equipment.

A computer with Windows 7 or Windows 10 operating system is recommended.

Internet Access

NOTE: For day to day communication, I can generally be reached on Skype at wayne.randall47.

Hopefully you can use internet access at your home. I do not recommend using computers in public locations, such as an internet cafes because there are too many watchful eyes looking over your shoulder trying to see what you are doing, AND they might see usernames and passwords you use to access your marketing sites and financial accounts.

If you are not happy with what you have, talk to others in your area to see what internet service providers they use and which rate plans they have. Faster connections are better for internet marketing; however, faster speeds also come with higher prices. Do NOT pay more than what you can afford. After you are making more money with your marketing, you will be able to afford faster connections.

How fast is your internet connection? Go to http://www.speedtest.net and see what the results of the test are.

When you get to the SpeedTest site, DO NOT click on the button that says “START SCAN“. Instead, click on the button with “BEGIN TEST” that you see on the map on the laptop. If you click on the START SCAN, it will try to sell you some software.

Programs

Check to see how many of the programs listed on this page are already on your computer. You might already have many of the following programs on your computer. They are used in very basic computing, but in case you do not have them, I highly recommend you install them now.

The checklist I use when I look over your computer will have a lot more tweaking on it than the programs you see on this page.

Mikogo.

If you need help installing and/or configuring any of the programs, please install Mikogo on your computer. Mikogo will allow me to view your computer screen and to use your mouse just like I was sitting right there beside you.

This program will allow me to (1) see your desktop and (2) move your mouse around to show you and to help you.

  • Go to http://www.mikogo.com and create a FREE account.
  • Download the program file to your computer. I recommend you create a subfolder called Programs in the Downloads folder and save all of your downloaded software there.
  • Double click on the file name to install the program.

Adobe Reader

  • Go to https://get.adobe.com/reader/ to download the program.
  • Before you download, UNCHECK any boxes for Optional offers.
  • Download the program file to your computer. I recommend you create a subfolder called Programs in the Downloads folder and save all of your downloaded software there.
  • Double click on the file name to install the program.

Adobe Flash Player

  • Go to https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ to download the program.
  • Before you download, UNCHECK any boxes for Optional offers.
  • Download the program file to your computer. I recommend you create a subfolder called Programs in the Downloads folder and save all of your downloaded software there.
  • Double click on the file name to install the program.

Java

  • Go to https://java.com/en/download/windows_xpi.jsp to download the program file.
  • Before you download, UNCHECK any boxes for Optional offers.
  • Download the program file to your computer. I recommend you create a subfolder called Programs in the Downloads folder and save all of your downloaded software there.
  • Double click on the file name to install the program.

Skype

  • We use Skype extensively with our marketing.
  • If you do not already have a Skype account, go to http://www.skype.com and create an account. For marketing purposes, we recommend your Skype ID have your name in it.
  • After you get your Skype account, send me a Contact Request to wayne.randall47.

Windows Update

  • Is your version of Windows, and Microsoft products, up to date?
  • Microsoft normally publishes security updates on Tuesdays.
  • Run Windows Update to ensure all of the recommended and optional files are downloaded and installed on your computer.
  • To go to Windows Update, click on the Microsoft icon, then choose “All Programs”, then scroll down the list and click on Windows Update.
  • Click on Check for updates to see if you need to download and install any updates.
  • Click on Change settings and make sure it is configured to “Install updates automatically (recommended)” is chosen.

Browsers

  • I recommend you install and use Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome instead of Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Password Manager

  • I highly recommend using RoboForm to store all of your login information. You can even use RoboForm to create your passwords so they are not easy for hackers to guess what they are.
  • Go to http://www.roboform.com/php/land.php?frm=frame45&affid=r0071 and click on the button with “Download RoboForm Now” on it. Contact me on Skype (wayne.randall47) and I will help you install and configure RoboForm.
  • RoboForm is free to use with up to ten login IDs. After that, it costs $29.95 each year; however, you can often get it for $19.95 for the first year. Whatever it costs, it is worth it weight in gold.

Email Accounts

For marketing purposes, you will need at least TWO email accounts.

  • Admin Email. This account is for general emails. You can use an email address that you already have, OR you can create a new email address for use specifically for your marketing.
  • List Email. One method you will use for advertising is to send emails to safelists. To keep your admin email’s Inbox free of possibly thousands of emails from the safelist members, I recommend you use Viral In Box (VIB) to receive the majority of the emails from the safelists. A few of the safelists REQUIRE that you use a gmail email address, but the majority of the safelists allow you to use a VIB email address.
    – Go to http://vib.cm/mariway and create your VIB account.
    – I recommend you keep your username short because your username will be part of the email addresses for each of your safelists. For example, let’s say you joined a safelist called “safelist”. Your VIB email address could be your VIB username plus “safelist” plus the VIB domain you selected.
    – The username for this example would be: username.safelist@ezvib.com.

    Get with me after you create your VIB account and I will help you configure the folders for your emails from the various safelists you join and show you how to use VIB.

Word Processor

Antivirus Software

  • I use software from Comodo, but any antivirus software is better than NO PROTECTION at all.
  • Some computers come with antivirus software already installed on it. Keep an eye out because, in many cases, that copy is only a trial copy and after the trial period (30 days, 90 days, one year, etc.) is up, you will have to pay to keep using it.
  • Although I used the paid version, Comodo does offer a free version.

Now You Are Ready to Begin the CLB Training

Check at the bottom of the New Member Registration screen to be sure my name (Wayne Randall) is there. If it is, enter your information in the blocks and Submit your registration for Contact List Builder.

  • A Payza or PayPal Email is required for you to receive your commissions each month for the CLB members that join under you. Follow the instruction up above if you do not yet have a Payza or a PayPal account.
  • It is okay to leave the Clickbank ID box empty.
